Qualities of the Church
-
Crossroads has modern facilities uniquely and ideally
situated at the apex of three growing communities. An added educational wing
has given breathing room and vision for expanding the use of the
facility. Our desire is to make maximum overall use of the facilities God
has provided. Although we have modern facilities, our congregation
remains sensitive to the need to plan for future growth.
-
Crossroads Covenant Church is an exciting, vibrant congregation that
takes its faith and the Word of God very seriously. We have a strong
ministry to teens which is our model for how discipling should occur in
other areas of our church.
-
Our youth ministry has a passion for evangelism, which is expressed in
purposeful discipling through our Wednesday Night "The Rock" (for high
school youth) and our "Thursday Nite!" (for middle schoolers) outreach.
This model intentionally moves youth toward Sunday School and small group
discipling, resulting in a committed, growing relationship with Christ.
As youth develop leadership and stewardship skills, they are Spirit-led to
bring service outward to our church and community. Focusing on both
outreach and in reach brings a balanced approach to our youth ministry.
-
Small group discipling has been at the heart of our Adult ministry
development. Part of our five year plan includes a focus on leadership
training through "heir conditioning" and "cross training". Discipling
continues to expand through a number of home fellowships which meet in a
variety of our communities and our Adult Sunday School.
-
"Missions" has been much more than a word for Crossroads. We have
actively sent out pastors and missionaries. In addition, we have sent out
people now serving the Lord in the United States in areas of music,
discipleship, and the pastorate. Foreign missionaries from our
congregation now serve in Russia, Zaire, and Columbia. With a heart for
missions, both local and foreign, we also support a number of missionaries
which have not originated from our congregation.
-
We are a group of people blessed with many talents and strengths who
are striving to love one another. On any given Sunday the sounds of
children and adults talking and laughing will echo throughout our church
as we worship Christ together and seek to follow His will.

Statement of Faith
-
We believe in the Holy Scriptures, namely the Old and the New
Testament, as the Word of God and the only perfect rule for faith,
doctrine, and conduct. The Word of God is living and powerful and is
itself supreme over every interpretation of it, including our own.
-
We believe in One God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
We believe in Jesus Christ as fully human and fully divine.
-
We believe in the necessity of new life in Jesus Christ, God's Son.
This occurs when God's Word, by the power of the Holy Spirit, convicts
persons of their sinfulness and when they respond with confession and
repentance, receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives.
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit who lives in all believers and who gives
spiritual gifts to all believers as he chooses, for the purpose of
empowering the Church to honor Jesus Christ.
-
We believe in the Church as a fellowship of Christians whom God
Himself has called together to participate in Christ's mission to the
world.
-
We believe in the reality of freedom in Christ; freedom from the power
of sin and freedom to respond to God, both as individuals and as a Body,
by the guidance of his Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are
free to hold, discuss, and respect differing perspectives on those
doctrinal matters about which God's Word is not clearly definitive.
-
We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ to take believers home
to heaven.
